Biskuit Raya Series - Part 4

I didn’t buy any of my biscuit raya here, but it was quite an option if you’re dubious about where to buy your biskuit raya. DeLicia is famous of its 25k custom-made cupcakes. Eventhough their cupcake’s cakes was no better than Billie Chick, somehow their artworks is a better treat for the eyes. They also provide ice cream cakes too.

Pasar Sore Ramadhan Kauman

During the fasting month of Ramadhan, there are three big afternoon market in Yogyakarta, namely: Pasar Sore Kauman, Kampung Ramadhan Jogokaryan, and Jalur Gaza. Most of the stalls were selling traditional dishes for berbuka puasa (breaking the period of fasting), such as cap jae, mi goreng jawa, bothok, brongkos, baceman, etc. However, the foodscheme itself keeps changing since some of the foodsellers were foreigner. This year, i found nothing new nor unique on the latest-mentioned two. Meanwhile, the Pasar Sore Kauman is still worth a review.

Kicak 1.5k (from lot.11) is a traditional Javanese desserts sold only on the month of Ramadhan. There were two version of it: the richman version which use sticky rice and the poorman version which use geplak (traditionally processed cassava). The later one was already extinct in the market. The sticky rice was cooked with coconut milk, pandan, and ripe jackfruit. It was then coated with grated coconut and diced jackfruit. It tasted good, but do put in mind that it had a short shelftime, so please do check the expiry before you buy.
